About
I’ve been a freelance travel and lifestyle writer for around twelve years. I write about travel and food and am a local expert on Port Macquarie and surrounds, especially its burgeoning food scene. Apart from travel and food, I have a lot of fun writing humour and have written over twenty satirical columns for the Sydney Morning Herald’s Heckler column back in the day.
I love walking and foodie holidays and outdoor pursuits (but just don’t ask me to put up a tent!) so soft adventure and touring are my specialties. I am an avid photographer and an active member of my local camera club.
I’m somewhat of a word nerd, am fluent in French, hovering somewhere between C1 and C2, have “get by” Italian and have done my best with Japanese.
I’m a member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers and Writing NSW.
